I personally don't see the dhole anywhere in this creature. If my memory serves me right, they were essentially these gigantic carnivorous worms that lived in caves. But hey, Lovecraft wanted us to use our imagination with his beasts.

True, the Dholes are monstrous worms but this isn't meant to be one or even a Bhole from Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath, but that's where I got the idea for gigantic wormy things and you got to give the credit where it's due.
